Mr Yang Li joined us in 2001 working in one of our Team clinics with Dr Daya, offering his knowledge and expertise in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Yang Li qualified as a TCM Professor in China in 1976. He then worked as a teaching assistant and hospital practitioner for the following 3 years. At the age of 27 he was appointed senior lecturer and senior clinician at the China Academy of TCM in Beijing, the youngest ever senior lecturer appointed by the academy in history. This prepared him for further advanced training in TCM including teaching at the Beijing International Acupuncture Centre.
He has written many articles and was one of the authors of an authoritative textbook entitled “Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion” published in 1984 and translated into English in 1987 and now standard text used by the WHO International Acupuncture Training Centre in Beijing.
Yang Li moved to the UK in 1991.He specialises in gynaecology, including infertility, and child health.
“All treatment in TCM is about restoring a state of balance from the illness but what is much more important is learning how to maintain this state of balance oneself. Prevention is by far more important than treating just the acute situation.”
